The cable cars from Kölner Seilbahn offer you a very particular way of crossing the river Rhine. The 930 meters long ride takes about 6 minutes to get from one river bank to the other.

Kölner Seilbahn is open from April to October between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Last round trip starts at 5:45 p.m.

Busses & trams To reach the station “Zoo/Flora”, take line 18 (tram) or 140 (bus) To reach the station “Thermalbad”, take lines 150, 250 or 260 (all busses)
Coaches Only from the left side of the Rhine: entrance and exit at the zoo Coach parking stop is between the cable car and the multi-story car park.
Car Parking is available under the bridge (Zoobrücke) on both sides of the Rhine. On the left Rhine side parking is also available in the multi-story car park “Riehler Straße”.

- If in the identity card for the disabled is noted, that an accompanying person is required, the accompanying person travels for free.
- Exception: Children younger than three years travel for free – the accompanying person pays the fare for the child.

Experience a round trip with Kölner Seilbahn and Wolters Zoo-Express.
You can hop on the green-yellow zoo-express (narrow-gauge railway) in front of the cathedral and enjoy an interesting ride along the Rhine until you reach the cable car. You will ride alongside the river bank and have a splendid view on the greenery of the Rhine park which is on the other side of the river.
During the following ride with the cable car you can view Cologne’s skyline from above, which looks totally different. The city’s silhouette and the panoramic view on the Rhine must be experienced together as offered with this special ticket.
From your round trip with the cable car you can hop back on the Zoo-Express and pass the wine museum, the Higher Regional Court and ride through the northern part of the city centre called “Eigelstein” till you finally return to the cathedral.
You can also take longer breaks, for example to spent time in the Rhine park or at the zoo or visit and climb the cathedral. You can always hop on and off the narrow-gauge railway. Please pay attention to the opening hours of each sight.
